The Best Jazz Vocal (Perina)

Buat sebagian telinga orang awam menganggap bahwa musik Jazz adalah musik yang cenderung rumit dan berat, namun beberapa lagu yang bernuansa Jazz dalam kaset yang berjudul "The Best Jazz Vocal" ini bisa membuktikan bahwa beberapa lagunya terasa nikmat dan masuk ke telinga siapa saja. Ya, lagu-lagu Jazz yang dikemas dalam kaset yang diproduksi oleh Perina ini menjadi favorit banyak orang. Kaset ini dirilis pada tahun 1984 dan direkam diatas pita BASF.

Kaset ini berisi 14 buah lagu pilihan, disampul depannya dicantumkan 4 buah lagu yang dianggap sebagai lagu andalan yaitu: After All (Al Jerreau), Midnight Rendezvous (Nancy Wilson), Universal Rhythm (Yogi Lee), Ariel (Michael Ruff).

Sebuah singel yang sangat manis dengan judul "After All" didaulat sebagai lagu pembuka dalam kaset ini, lagu tersebut dinyanyikan oleh seorang musisi Jazz kenamaan yang berasal dari Amerika yaitu AlJerrau, penyanyi ini telah berhasil memenangi 6 gelar Grammy Awards selama karirnya.

Ada seorang penyanyi jazz yang telah menyumbangkan dua buah lagunya sekaligus yaitu Yogi Lee dengan lagunya yang berjudul "Tradewinds" dan "Universal Rhythm", namun saya kurang begitu mengenal penyanyi ini, bahwa referensinya pun sangat kurang, informasi yang didapat hanya dia adalah seorang backing vocal.

Dan beberapa lagu lain dalam kaset ini yang sangat bagus adalah In The Name Of Love (Bill Withers), It's You (Stevie Wonder & Dionne Warwick), Suddenly (Billy Ocean), Smooth Operator (Sade), The Two Of Us (Nancy Wilson & Daryl Coley)
